Card Types

There are three main card types available in the Legends of Elysium digital trading card game: unit cards, spell cards, item cards (*coming soon). Cards, alongside the game board, serve as the basic components that shape the game’s dynamics. Each card signifies an action available to the player upon its play.

 Card Types Description
Unit Cards These are the primary cards used in gameplay. Players deploy these cards on the game board to engage in battles and execute their strategies. Each unit card has unique attributes and abilities that can be utilized during the match.
Spell Cards Spell cards are used to cast various effects during the battle. These can include buffs for your units, debuffs for enemy units, or other special abilities that can alter the course of the game. The strategic use of spell cards can significantly influence the outcome of a match.
Item Cards (*Coming Soon) Item cards are an upcoming feature in the game. They are expected to equip heroes with additional abilities or enhancements. The specific details and mechanics of how these cards will function in the game are currently under development and will be introduced soon.

Mana, visible in the top-left corner of the card, is the main resource needed to be spent to play cards. Mana cost is typically ranging from 0 to 20 mana. In the left-top corner, right under mana cost, Lands requirement is visible. Land requirements are ranging from 1 to 3 Land types of different values. Land requirement indicates what types and amount of Lands a player needs to have on board, before they can play a given card.

- to play Venomous Acidex, a player needs to have 6 Lands of any type already on the board - to play Molten Giant, a player needs to have 2 Forest, 2 Farmland, 2 Mountain Lands already on the board

For example:
– to play Molten Giant, a player needs to have 2 Forest, 2 Farmland, 2 Mountain Lands already on the board
– to play Venomous Acidex, a player needs to have 6 Lands of any type already on the board

Each card features a card graphic, a card name, and a card description. For a unit, card description includes skills or abilities that the card possesses. For spell cards, the card description includes the effect of playing that card.

Card description is arguably the most important feature of a card. Card description can appear on any card and can include any number of skills or abilities. Some abilities appear frequently on cards, and these are known as keyword abilities. Some keyword abilities worth mentioning are Taunt, Flying, Ranged. The descriptions of these abilities can be found on the Card Abilities page. If a card has a skill, it is usually preceded by a trigger keyword, which defines when the skill is activated. The trigger is like the key that unlocks a card's skill. Some trigger keywords worth mentioning are: Awakening, Final Act, Sunrise. The descriptions of these triggers can be found on the Card Triggers page.
